We are pleased to present Kayoibako / retour à l’envoyeur : Alan Leonesi Studio for Graduate Students at Ecole Supérieure d'Art d'Avignon at our project space as part of Mois de la France à Yokohama 2023, an annual program organized by Institut français du Japon in Yokohama.

A joint project with French artist-in-residence Echanguer 22 in Saint-Laurent-des-Arbres, the collaboration since 2019 keeps exchanging useless or outmoded things between Japan and France, letting artists in each region repurpose them for art-making or holding workshop events to give new meanings to those objects now deprived of their original functions and contexts. This exhibition showcases some results and processes from a workshop held by French artist Alain Leonesi at Ecole Supérieure d'Art d'Avignon (ESAA) as a studio for its graduate students.
